Made from Khadi cotton, a hand-spun and handwoven fabric that is known for its breathability, strength and subtle irregularities. It embodies sustainable textile craftsmanship and a low impact production process. We take care to source quality fabrics that are healthier for the environment, the worker, and the wearer are our priority.

The Khadi cotton undergoes an AZO-free dyeing process. AZO-free dyes are free from harmful synthetic compounds, ensuring the fabric is gentle on the skin and safer for the environment.

This distinct embroidery was the creation of Porgai artisan Revathi. Porgai works not only with a rich archive of traditional stitches, but also through adapting, creating and developing new expressions of their heritage craft. Their craft is rooted in their Lambadi history and culture, and continues to develop. Revathi's creation was deeply inspiring to us, Porgai's traditional use of their stitch is generally geometric and structured. Revathi's departure from this form, experimenting with dynamic fluid shapes, captured our attention and we deeply appreciate the permission to be able to use this stitch in our collection.

100% of our CMT process was completed by Vanavil Association. Vanavil trained and developed the skills of the local tribal community. The process includes pattern cutting, assembling, and hand-finishing details; each stage carried out with a commitment to skill-building, empowerment, and environmental mindfulness.
Using solar-powered sewing machines and equipment, the team ensures each garment is finished with precision and care.

Every Nüwa Pant is accompanied by handmade packaging crafted from deckle-edge archival cotton rag paper by Sri Aurobindo Handmade Paper, Pondicherry. Made from 100% recycled cotton off-cuts, the paper is naturally acid-free and tree-free. Each sheet is hand lifted via mould and deckle, pressed, and dried using traditional techniques; its soft texture, feathery deckle borders, and slight variation in thickness or size embody the craftsmanship inherent in slow, mindful making. Water used in production is drawn onsite and treated for reuse.

Azo-free dyed fabrics are prone to bleeding and fading if laundered incorrectly.
Treat gently and this will fabric will age gracefully:
Wash seperately for the first few washes.
Cold gentle machine wash or handwash only.
Use mild pH-nuetral detergent.
Do not soak.
Warm iron only.
Dry in shade.
This garment should not have prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or any bright light.
Expect some light gradual fading slowly over time, a natural process of gently dyed products.
