Vanavil

Vanavil emerged from a vision of self-reliance and community development in Sittilingi Valley, Tamil Nadu. They work alongside Porgai Artisans Asociation; in fact, they're right next door. They fulfill the next step that was needed by the local community; as organic cotton farming and traditional embroidery flourished. The creation of Vanavil completed the circle of craft with a team of highly skilled local tailors, to create and produce full garments, homewares and accessories for market.

Founded to train local women in every stage of garment making, Vanavil’s programme equips artisans with technical expertise, design understanding and confidence in their craft. Led by master patternmaker Nouman, the studio embodies care and precision; each seam, cut, and finish handled with quiet mastery.

Supported by Titan Energy, the Vanavil workshop is powered entirely by solar energy. The space is bright, safe, and filled with camaraderie. Long shared lunches are part of the rhythm of the day; moments of laughter and connection that echo the spirit of their work.

OUR COLLABORATION

Vanavil is a sanctuary to us on our visits to Sittilingi, their spacious, light hearted studio a reprive from the humidity outside, and a perfect spot to sit in with the workers and develop our collection. Vanavil excels at precision and detail, and produces 100% of the CMT process for our production.
